Position Summary: Construction Project Manager
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing facilities projects from conception to completion. This role ensures successful execution of new construction, renovations, expansions, and equipment installations while adhering to project timelines and budgets. The Construction Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to establish project scopes and achieve strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination:
• Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of facilities projects, including construction, renovations, expansions, and equipment installations, adhering to established timelines and budgets.
• Define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Develop comprehensive project schedules and timelines, allocating resources and tracking dependencies to ensure smooth project flow.
Project Monitoring and Reporting:
• Monitor project progress, track milestones, and oversee expenditures, providing timely updates to senior management and project sponsors.
• Identify and proactively manage potential project risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies as needed.
• Prepare detailed project reports to capture key project metrics, highlighting progress, issues, and corrective actions.
Intermediator between Corporate/US Region and Vendor:
• Coordinate and schedule meetings or calls between stakeholders to discuss project updates, timelines, and any adjustments.
• Ensure that vendor deliverables align with corporate and regional standards, including quality, compliance, and timeliness.
• Proactively coordinate and schedule meetings across time zones, demonstrating flexibility to accommodate regional and vendor availability.
Post-Project Evaluation and Improvement:
• Conduct post-project evaluations to assess project outcomes and capture lessons learned.
• Document insights and opportunities for process improvement, contributing to the development of best practices for future projects.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field preferred.
Experience:
10+ years of experience in construction or facilities project management, ideally within a cross-functional environment.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong project management skills with proficiency in project scheduling, budgeting, and tracking for construction projects.
• Proficient in root-cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines and project objectives.
• Bilingual is a plus (Mandarin & English).
• Capability to negotiate with government officers.
Working Conditions
This role may require occasional travel and extended hours to meet project demands.
